Breathing first. Sound alongside.
Start with your breath. Keep sound beside it.
The upcoming guide pairs an even Focus rhythm or a longer-exhale Unwind rhythm with the app’s existing binaural audio. Breathe gently, follow the visual cues, and return to sound whenever you like. No holds. No need to force a deeper breath.
Behind the ritual
Breathing research. Clear boundaries.
Some breathing practices show promise for mood and stress. The details—and the limits—matter.
01 / BREATHWORK
A small daily practice, studied.
In a four-week randomized study co-authored by Andrew Huberman and David Spiegel, five minutes of daily cyclic sighing improved positive mood more than mindfulness meditation. Our short guides use different breathing patterns.
neur0tide generates binaural audio for headphones. Research on brainwave entrainment is mixed; an extra benefit from combining it with our breathing guide has not been established.
Breathing evidence is not one-size-fits-all. A 400-person trial found no extra stress benefit from slow coherent breathing over another guided breathing rhythm. These studies did not test neur0tide, its two- and three-minute presets, or its breathing–audio combination.

Field notes
A little context. A gentler ritual.
Why breathing leads, why sound stays alongside, and where the science still has questions. A useful ritual doesn’t need an exaggerated promise.
Audio available for iPhone. Guided breathing is coming next.
Breathe gently and stop if you feel dizzy or uncomfortable. Listen at a comfortable volume. General wellness, not a medical device. Never use while driving or operating machinery.
